Streaking - what's it about?

So I decided to take on the Runner's World Challenge of streaking from Thanksgiving Day to New Year's Day. I've seen a lot of runners do it and I've heard it works great to loosen the body up after a long run. I thought I will give it a try for one month.

Yesterday was my 10K trot and I was feeling sore so I went out for a 1 mile recovery run today. DONE!

Time to catch up!

My husband came up to me and told me that I haven't blogged in over a month. YIKES! He was right so here's a really quick overview of what has been going on the last month and a half.

Miami Beach Halloween Half 10/26/2013
My first half of the season came up and I was so sick! I felt horrible and had a nasty cold but I was also very excited for my running buddies that were about to complete their first half. Hubs stayed with me as I took a very slow pace and cheered them on every time our paths crossed. They did an amazing job and we all got a very cool medal!

Ft. Lauderdale Half 11/10/2013
I was almost completely recovered from my cold and decided to push harder at this half and ended up with a 3 minute PR - HAPPY!!! Another Mommyathlon running buddy hit a PR and bettered her time from the Halloween half and my husband hit a PR as well. My 26.2 running partner in crime stuck with me. We all went and had a delicious big breakfast after. YUM!

Two Happy PR Mommyathlons!

Thanksgiving Day Trot 11/28/2013
Last year, this race was the first time I ran 6 miles straight. I was curious to see how I could do this year in comparison to last year which was very difficult for me. Surrounded with amazing friends and my 26.2 partner who left early so I missed getting him in a pic, I was able to blow my last year's time away by 20 minutes. It was a wonderful way to start the day and to give thanks for amazing friends, a loving family and our health. We are so very lucky. My daughter ran the 5K and did great and my son participated in his first race - he still doesn't want to let go of his medal!
